The 7-Step Import Process
Importing a car doesn’t have to be complicated. At Velox Auto, we’ve simplified the process into seven clear steps, so you always know what’s happening and what to expect. From choosing the right vehicle in Japan to final delivery in the UK.
Step 1 – Car Listings
We provide you with regularly updated auction listings from Japan, including key details like make, model, year, mileage, and photos. Our team helps you review and select the right car for your needs.
Step 2 – Car Inspection
Once a car is chosen, we arrange a full inspection in Japan. You receive a detailed report covering the car’s condition, along with photos and notes on any issues.
Step 3 – Initial Deposit
To secure your spot in the auction, a simple advance payment is required. This deposit is applied to your purchase if you win the bid.
Step 4 – Bidding Process
We represent you at the auction and place bids based on your budget and preferences. If successful, the full FOB (Free on Board) price is required.
Step 5 – Payment & Refunds
After a successful bid, you receive an invoice for the FOB price with clear instructions. If the auction is unsuccessful, your deposit is refunded or carried forward.
Step 6 – Post-Auction Services
We handle transport to the loading facility, arrange secure shipping, and prepare all necessary shipping documentation for customs clearance.
Step 7 – Arrival & Clearance in the UK
On arrival, we coordinate customs clearance. You can either collect your car from the port or have it delivered to your location. MOT and road modifications are arranged separately.
